From Albany Court to NEW MILL, FARNDON ROAD, MARKET HARBOROUGH, LE16 9NP.

MOVED PIC

Doro Tape UK Ltd has proven it’s not all doom and gloom in the business world by recently moving to larger premises.

Doro Tape was set up in 1988 as a daughter company of Doro Tape Ehlis GmbH Germany supplying application tape alone (hence the name). Although loyal to their home town of Market Harborough, the business has moved premises several times as it has grown.  The company is now solely owned and managed by fellow Directors James Carpenter and Michael Ingram.

Over the years Doro Tape has matured into one of the major suppliers in the UK’s sign and graphics industry. Supplying materials to a diverse variety of businesses; from one man sign makers, high street shops to luxury department stores, television and movie sets!

Doro provides the industry with a wide variety of consumables, film and accessories in 3 main areas; standard plotter cut signage (represented mainly by the well known and reputable Aslan and Ritrama branding); garment decoration flex and transfer paper; and the ever increasing range of digital printing media – everything from poster paper, through to soft signage, banner and pop-up film.

With the continual growth of the company, Doro has moved from Albany Court, Market Harborough to larger premises across town. The extra space is essential to Doro as their previous warehouse was bursting at the seams! The move is set to bring great things for the future as they now have the space to hold a wider variety of materials and at extra widths.

Director Michael Ingram commented “We are delighted with the way the company has continually grown over the past years. The move to the new site was vital in order to sustain that growth”

New Improved ‘Dry Apply’ Window Etch

Dry Apply Etch Vinyl

Dry Apply Etch Vinyl

On offer throughout February!

We introduced the ‘Dry Apply’ glass etch effect vinyl to our popular window graphics range in 2008.  From the start it was a big hit and became one of our bestselling etch films.

The EL 300 ‘Dry Apply’ by Aslan is brilliant for graphics on glass.  This silver etch vinyl gives an elegant sandblasting effect with its semi-gloss surface and medium translucency. It has benefited from a special patterned adhesive surface that allows air to escape easily during application, giving a perfect bubble-free finish. Wet application is not required (in fact not recommended), so no more drips, no puddles, no mess and no hassle removing application tape. It has a minimum outdoor life of 7 years and is designed to be easily removed for up to 12 months after application.

Aslan have now improved the product further by redesigned the adhesive pattern and having a thinner release liner. This has allowed them to reduce the initial adhesive tack so the film can be repositioned easily during the application without creating stress lines in the vinyl.  These improvements make it the ideal choice especially when applying large graphics, even for the most inexperienced users. The EL 300 is now without doubt one of the best, if not the best, easy apply etch films on the market. Also available in a digitally printable version DFL 300.

With the chance of being outside in this snowy weather a continued likelihood, being conspicuous to traffic is a very important issue.  Safety wear can, of course be purchased as standard with the reflective strips already attached but there is then an opportunity to personalise the safety clothing by adding graphics; company logos and sports club emblems.  And why not offer that little extra by adding an element of reflectivity to the Logo. By using Doro Tape’s brand new Silva-Lite Pro you can offer a completely different dimension to their personalised printwear.

Silva-Lite Pro

Silva-Lite Pro shines through the dark

Doro Tape has just launched the Silva-Lite Pro; arguably one of the best reflective films for cad cutting and heat pressing on the market today.  This highly reflective flex film reflects the light with a brilliant silver-white intensity.  In fact Silva-Lite Pro meets the European Standard for reflectivity (En 471:2003+A1:2007) making it possible to use on safety clothing for emergency services, police and councils. There must be times when individual officers or firemen need to be identified easily in situation where light is poor.  Good reflective decals would be ideal in this situation and cad cut heat pressable films such as Silva-Lite Pro are ideal for this type of work.

One big improvement on the original Silva-Lite is the use of a sticky backed liner for the film.  This makes it even easier to cut and weed, allowing for really small graphics to be achieved.

This film is very versatile in that it can be applied to virtually any type of garment, whether it is a waterproof nylon jacket; a Lycra running top; a fleece or a cotton t-shirt.  It has passed the domestic ISO 6330 domestic wash test at 600C and the manufacturers are at this time expecting it to pass the industrial wash test ISO 15797 at 750C to include tumble drying.  This means it is ideal for private use or for corporate and sports clubs where garments may be cleaned on a more industrial scale.

Doro Tape now stock Silva-Lite Pro alongside their extensive range of flex films for the personalisation of garments.  The film is supplied at 500mm width by the metre, on a next day delivery service throughout the UK.
